Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine Services

Pulmonary or Sleep Medicine Consultation

Our Pulmonologist will obtain your medical history, perform a focused physical exam, record your medications and allergies, review relevant laboratory and imaging results to determine the best possible treatment specifically designed for you.

Pulmonary Function Test (PFT)

This measures the amount of air you inhale and exhale and includes spirometry, which measures how fast you can release air out of your lungs to help diagnose breathing problems. PFT monitors the progression of pulmonary diseases with superior digital technology, all while offering comfort, accessibility, and flexible testing options for all patients.

Six Minute Walk Test (6MWT)

Measures the distance you can walk in 6 minutes while monitoring your lung performance as your heart rate increases during this exercise. The objective of the test is to walk as far as possible for 6 minutes.

Sleep Study

A fully attended and supervised one or two night polysomnography (PSG) measures your sleep pattern from the changes in your heart rate and breathing.  Sleep studies are used to diagnose obstructive sleep apnea (OSA), narcolepsy or periodic limb movement disorder (PLMB).

Multiple Sleep Latency Test (MSLT)

Monitors brain waves, eye movements, muscle activity and EKG during five 20-minute nap periods scheduled throughout the day in two-hour intervals. MSLT measures how quickly you fall asleep during each nap (sleep latency). This tool is used to eliminate narcolepsy and hypersomnia.

Millennium Physicians

most sleep disorders are easily treatable

Once your sleep study is completed and it is determined that you have sleep apnea, what are the next steps?

The good news is that most sleep disorders are easily treatable. Millennium Sleep Center offers patients with sleep apnea, access to Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) devices that deliver air at a fixed pressure through the night to prevent airway obstruction. CPAP is the gold standard treatment for your sleep breathing disorder and is vital for your quality of life. CPAP therapy can prevent serious risks of obstructive sleep apnea such as myocardial infarction, diabetes, excessive urination at night, improve memory and cognitive functions, improve desired sleep, treat hypertension and control gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). CPAP is considered the most effective treatment for obstructive sleep apnea (OSA).

Whether you are a new patient to CPAP therapy or looking to upgrade your device, our clinical sleep specialists are experts in not only selecting the equipment and fitting CPAP masks specifically for you, but also to help resolve issues you may encounter with your device.
